Jacksonville, FL, August 6, 2008 - Dave Henry, President of the Winn Dixie Foundation, will present a check for $80,000 to St. Vincent’s HealthCare (SVHC) Chief Executive Officer Scott Whalen at 2:30 p.m., Thursday August 7, at the Breast Health Center at St. Vincent's Medical Center. Winn-Dixie's gift continues their support of St. Vincent’s Medical Center's Breast Health Advocate program funded by the St. Vincent’s HealthCare Foundation.

Winn-Dixie and St. Vincent's HealthCare Foundation enjoy a long-standing partnership providing support and advice to women diagnosed with breast cancer through St. Vincent's Breast Health Advocate program. The Breast Health Advocate provides educational and personal support to women diagnosed with breast cancer at St. Vincent’s Medical Center.

"St. Vincent’s is known for providing compassionate care to our patients. The Winn-Dixie Foundation enables us to take this a step higher by partnering with us to provide the Breast Health Advocate Program," says Scott Whalen, President and CEO of SVHC. "At a most sensitive and frightening moment, women in our community are given personal and individual support through the Breast Health Advocate Program."

"For more than 80 years, Winn-Dixie has been known as the company with a heart," says Dave Henry, President of the Winn-Dixie Foundation. "We are proud to continue that tradition with this donation to St. Vincent's Breast Health Center. We are honored to have them in our community and we applaud their tireless work in the fight against breast cancer."
